"To create a space where time slows down"
There are places that invite you to slow down.
And
there are places that invite you to return to yourself.
Casa Samaya was born from this intention: to create a coastal sanctuary where simplicity meets soul. Nestled between the ocean and the palm trees of Weligama, our house is not a resort. It is a rhythm. A quiet flow. A space where every detail is designed to breathe with you.
The name SAMAYA comes from Sanskrit. It means sacred accord: a vow to live in alignment with oneself and the world. It unfolds in three syllables, three breaths, three dimensions of harmony:
Rest, simplicity, and connection with the body. The art of stillness, the calm of our rooms, the serenity of space.
Human connection, shared moments, and social energy. The pleasure of a meal cooked with care, the warmth of the café.
Inner balance, growth, and mindful practices. Surf, yoga, meditation, and ocean rituals to reconnect you to your natural rhythm.
Together, these three currents form the essence of Casa Samaya: a living house where comfort, consciousness, and community meet.
We believe in elegance without ostentation, in beauty that breathes, in experiences that speak softly but stay deeply. Here, time expands, and life finds its right tempo: between sunrise surf and sunset meditation.
Welcome home, to the art of conscious living.
Welcome to
Casa Samaya.
We are committed to preserving what makes Weligama special. Our water is solar-heated, single-use plastic has no place here, and we work with local suppliers for everything from food to furniture. Our entire team is Sri Lankan, and every role in the house is filled by someone from the area. The ocean is right there, and we want to keep it that way.
